Thread: Pay 10,000 Bolts to a Computer !?!

Ratchet: What!?! Now even the computers are charging us? That's it, this galaxy blows.

What was your reaction when you had to pay 10,000 bolts to a computer at Dobbo to continue with the game?

I thought it was funny that you wouldn't expect a technology device to charge money on you and the way Ratchet reacted to this in the cutscene was pretty priceless. Although when you don't have enough bolts on you at this point, that's when it becomes not funny at all, especially for the amount that the computer is asking for.

It didn't bug me too much, but it did one time when I didn't had enough bolts on me in the testing facility on planet Dobbo. So I suggest earn a lot of bolts from other places before entering this part of the game. emoji

I do find it funny, but it's suck when you are trying to save up to buy new weapons.

basically I was a bit shocked and thought to my self 'what the *bleep* is this?'

Good point. Paying bolts to characters and even devices to continue with the game was one big issue I had with Going Commando. There were too many of them that were asking for bolt fees and it would get in the way when you are saving up for the most expensive weapons.

10,000 bolts? What about the 40,000 bolts you had to pay to view the infobot to that dude at the megacorp factory? Remember Ratchet was approaching him with his wrench, then he started talking to him?

You do have a point that the fellow at the megacorp company did charge more bolts, but at least he was a living civilian to charge Ratchet bolt currency. The computer however… why does a computer need money anyways? emoji

Well, someone stated that it was annoying when you're trying to save up for weapons. Well I was wondering why THIS would be bad when 40,000 is even worse. Also, he needed the money for "a little bit of food", 40,000 bolts for food? Yeah right!

True true. Looks like the old Smolgian loves expensive taste. emoji

you'd think he wanted to buy food? That reminds me of the moment in Ratchwt & Clank (1) "Hault! Who goes there?" "We are on a mission to save the galaxy-" "speak for yourself & PUT YOUR HANDS DOWN you look rediculous" "I dont care who you are? I just want to get the heck outta here. I joined the army to earn bolts to go to college! I never thought i'd end up in a war? Go figure?" "This is a noble cause, sir." "noble my hine! I pulled this Infobot off a busted robot. Gimme some bolts for a bus fair, and it's yours!" *pays small fee* "Thanks! Good luck saving the galaxy… Or whatever?" *Jumps off into the sea!* At first i didnt notice? BUT Wasnt he gonna get a bus fair? LOL! Plus if you are a good collecter of bolts (smash all crates trees & anything packed with bolts) 10,000 doesent bug ya! But at 40,000 i thought i was getting a bit ripped off emoji

40,000 bolts for food? Yeah right!

I think he ate the bolt. I have no idea why emoji

he said 'A meegar few bolts for food?" Two funny things! 1. 40,000 is'nt a meeger ammount of bolts! But he looked like the type to request what to us seems alot but to him seems tiny… Ya know a rich person.
2. He was asking for bolts for food. You would think he's gonna buy some food with the bolts. But instead he gobbles one up, to show he literally meant "for food" LOL

XD the smolgian was epic lol cuz like stated he wanted them FOR FOOD not for food as in buyin food. and you know i thought it wasn't neccesary to flip out bout dobbo i mean it is sci fi after all robots and pcs gotta make alivin too

What computer?

That's one issue I have with the original R&C and GC. You have to spend bolts to continue the story. Removing that from UYA was a smart move, but as you no longer have to pay to progress the weapons got a "little bit" more expansiveemoji.
