This is a little thread that asks you….
What would you prefer out of these two items:Raritanium or Platinum Bolts?
Well,for me,it was hard to choose because these items are like worth the same value and are rare,but I'd prefer Platinum bolts because well,first of all,where can you be in this universe without bolts?I mean,these bolts are just as rare as Raritanium,but are also one of the most expensive items in the universe.
Now,what would you prefer? 
that's a good question but my answer will be bolts cause they're fun to collect and I havn't seen any raritaniums in many ratchet and clank games (accept the first one which is all I know so far)
I would go with Rartitanium when the gameplay becomes pretty important because with those, you can purchase new upgradable parts for your ship at Slim's Cognito's shop, so that way the ship missions doesn't become that difficult and annoying when you first enter to them.
Platinum Bolts are still fun to collect, but I find trying to obtain all of them to be pretty difficult at times, especially the ones that you get from the Ace Bunyan races. Plus I think use of the bolts to modify your weapon at Slim's Mod Shops are utterly pointless. Sure it's an option (thank goodness) to have your weapons modified with different elements and such, but I do not really see the point to do that because I find that it makes your weapons even weaker than before.

I agree, the Platinum bolts from Ace Bunyon are hard to get, those are the only things I need for completing the game lol (I havent played it in a while though, lost my copy and only recently got a new copy to replace it) but I liked collecting stuff in this game, including the raritanium
Completing the Ace Bunyon races are the only Platinum Bolts I need to get to obtain all the bolts in Going Commando. I find it pretty annoying and difficult that you need to go through all the rings to achieve them. It's definitely one of the most difficult gameplay moments in the Ratchet and Clank games.

I know how you felt at the time when I was doing thoese but Revan told me a good little hint of how to do it easy when using a boost don't hold it rapid tap it so you can go faster without worring about losing any fuel for it 
and let me tell you it works really well 
I'll be trying that once I get back to NZ again… :P since those are the only Platinum bolts I need to get 100%
Well I've done it folks! I've finally got the platinum bolts from the Ace Bunyon races. It took some practice and time, but I've managed to get all the rings in each spaceship race.
The way I did it was to go fast, whether it is the beginning of the race or a part where the rings are at a very long distance from where you are. Then you can just go in normal acceleration once you go through the rings in really curved turns or when you are near to one.
It's not in extreme detail, but hopefully this could be another tip to help those who haven't done those parts yet.
Thats exactly how i did it! It was one (if not THE) hardest moments in Ratchet & Clank (excluding SM & SAC). Its very very hard, but possible (well on the edge of possible). But with the right ammount of pacience anyone can do it!
honestly raritanium annoyed me cuz it was annoyin to collect and use but only shield,boost,missiles and lasers were important. platinum bolts were actually cool and fun and the upgrades at slims were kick A$$
I don't mind!
It's funny how everyone thinks the Ace Bunyon races are hard as hell, but when I did it I got it on first try as an accident.
It's not that hard if you ask me!
