Dair Haired Warrior said Nefarious would only cameo in Qwark's "Claim to Fame" commercial. He said Insom hinted at it.

When, where, how? Besides, there are photos of Armin Shimerman in the studio performing the role, on one he's doing his evil laugh, so I think there will be a little more of him than just a cameo in a commercial… But even still, Lawrence would have to stand next to him in that commercial for at least one second.

I cant remember when I asked him.

That moment when a game barely hit the stores and they already announce new DLC characters.

It's great that Mewtwo is back in Smash Brothers… but why couldn't he just be in the game?

I don't mind it so much if it's at least been released before they start announcing DLC. The number of games these days that hype of Day-One DLC is getting ridiculous. Really? DLC on the same day as games launch? At least let me play the game to begin with before you start trying to sell your extras!!! emoji

It's a marketing strategy.
People will buy the game as soon as possible because they want access to the exclusive content.

That's exactly the reason for my frustration. Some people might even theorise that the devs do this to rake in as many pre-orders as possible because they're not confident that the game will get good enough reviews to sell well post-release - and frankly I see their point. If developers had confidence that their game would get positive critique, then they'd probably wait until a few months after release so that they could rekindle customers' hype for the game after it had died down; but releasing DLC on the game's release almost implies that devs don't think the game itself is going to be enough to convince people to buy it…

There's also the fear that no one will get the DLC if the game becomes outdated when it releases.
If I remember correctly, almost no one bought the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World DLC that came out a while back because it released so long after the game.

I prefer to have everything on the disc. Mostly because of the distant future. Imagine a few decades from now, do you really think Steam still exsists? Gone are all your games.

Steam has enough of a following that it will find a way to keep on going as long as gaming computers exist.
And if it were to eventually end they wouldn't be able to get away with locking all of your games away from you.

Well, when servers end… gone is your MMO. I just like to have my game secured, everything safely on a disc. Like the Xbox 360. You need to be online to activate your DLCs. So no XBLive, gone are all your DLC. That's why I like GOTY editons. Complete games, ready to be played forever. ^^

You make sense!

I don't know how Xbox do thier thing, but I can tell you PlayStation (and I'm 85% sure Steam) don't do it like that. When DLC is purchased it will be stored in the PSN account with a spefific number of acivations (lets say 5). So you can download them on a few different PS3 systms. Once it is downloaded and activated, that is one activation used up. You can deactivate your account, unplug the internet and throw your modem out the window. The only thing that can undo your DLC is a wipe of the HARD DRIVE. Which is simply a much larger disc used for everything Blu-Rays do and more (saves + DLC).

I presume it is the same with Steam, only on Steam your game is on the Hard Drive too, so there is that. We are going to be fine unless we start jumping on server-based content like micro-transactions and GAME STREAMING!?

Your concerns are in the wrong generation. Stop fretting over Stream and PS3, and start worrying about PS Now.

DLC is still a problem, if not even a bigger problem than it's ever been.
Games like Killer Instinct, Destiny or pratically any MMO out there require you to purchase DLC in order to get the full experience, something that isn't possible if you are not connected to the Internet or just don't have the means to get the content.

Playstation Now is a problem, but it isn't a very big problem until streaming starts being integated in actual games.
For now I'd just complain about the horrible pricing.

Also I'm pretty sure you don't need to be online to use your downloadable content on the 360.
