Pokitaru's Full Gameplay Walkthrough

One of the 3 levels for the Ratchet and Clank Ps4 game that were featured at the Playstation Experience was Pokitaru. Two of Insomniac's biggest fans, Division-ten and KBABZ recorded a full playthrough of the level. Enjoy!

Chairman Drek's new planet needs water, and the Blarg are syphoning it from Pokitaru's water generators! Ratchet and Clank must hurry before the Blarg suck the planet dry.

It is here that Ratchet and Clank meet Felton Razz, the twin brother of Grimroth. The two used to live in Polaris, but moved to the Solana Galaxy, and parted ways. One thing's for sure: the resemblance is uncanny!

Two weapons have been added to Ratchet's arsenal: The Buzz Blades and the Proton Drum. The Proton Drum's design looks like a Thundersmack and a Pixelator combined into one. It fires a grav bomb similar to Clank's bombs, that zaps any enemy within it's reach! It also unleashes a proton-pulse similar to the Mangler from Into The Nexus.

The Buzz Blades, on the other hand, fire quite slowly, and thus aren't as powerful as in other games. This is now the 9th weapon from Tools of Destruction that is also in the Ps4 game. Design-wise, it remains the same. The Buzz Blades will also be the Ratchet and Clank movie.

Swimming gameplay finally returns, but is relatively limited: Ratchet can only go underwater a short time before he loses breath. Clank's hydropack activates automatically, indicating that he may already come installed with it.

Having defeated all ground enemies, Ratchet and Clank must destroy the Hydroharvestors. To do this, he'll need an upgraded weapons system for his ship. Fortunately, Big Al is here to help! Ratchet and Clank apparently met Big Al back on Aleero, indicating that Clank's helipack might be installed by him. Since Clank never used his helipack in the Veldin gameplay, this would further that theory.

User image

Big Al also asks Ratchet and Clank how his "m'lady Cora" is doing, for a humorous bit. Division-ten said that Big Al is either voiced by Chris Hatfield, or someone trying to sound like him. This information will probably be revealed later on. Also in the bar, was a Fongoid, a Tharpod, and a little creature that looks a lot like Susie, from All 4 One. Insomniac Games has never shyed away from over-using Ps3 assets.

KBABZ also played Aleero City, which has a few updates to the level and gameplay. For one, down below the level is a platform with bolt crates, indicating that Ratchet and Clank probably visited there beforehand. Graphically, it looked a lot shinier, and some dialogue was changed for the train station. Perhaps the most interesting change was the control scheme for Clank's helipack. Just pressing R1 makes Ratchet high-jump, and R1 + the joystick makes Ratchet long-jump. No longer does the player have to press X to jump like that!

This may not be the only change to the gameplay, as VITTI hints, the quick-select may change too.

"3 more news posts until we hit 100!"
If we get lucky, maybe the 100th post will be a review on the movie?

Perhaps the game, since it comes first.

Perhaps it has come to the point where I feel that I should stop looking at more gameplay of the game, and just wait for it's release. Or am I just scared of something too big concerning the story leaking out? Maybe … nah, whatever!emoji

I don't think we will really see anything else… We have already seen half of Aleero City, Gaspar, Veldin and Pokitaru as well as the Nebula G34 boss fight. And the only ones that had some kind significant story but not spoiling much were Veldin, Pokitaru and Nebula G34. Gaspar only showed some side missions and Aleero City, well you just prevent a bomb threat…

This year may not have any more news, but next year could have a lot. I predict we will see:
1) Space combat
2) Brand new Clank gameplay
3) Hoverboard racing in full.
4) Planet Novalis gameplay
5) Waaaay more movie trailers and clips.

1. We have already seen the ship combat so even if there is it wouldn't be wise to show it.
2. I would love if the show more Clank Gameplay of the early levels.
3. No reason to show a full race but rather a small part of it.
4. Why Novalis and not Rilgar?
5. I think that we will see 1 more movie trailer and that will be to fit into Tv commercials as the current one is relatively big. As for clips, yeah, I could see some happening.
6. I want to add that we will probably also see some screenshots.
There are 4 months left, which means 3 are for polishing and about a month to go gold. I am really excited for this and I would prefer if they showed nothing more. Perhaps some clips only and screenshots to keep the hype. emoji

I doubt Insomniac would wait all the way to the end to go gold. But on the bright side, there really are only 4 months left before the game comes out!
