Thread: Pretty Random Movie Thread

They're probably just throwing fans a bone and giving small and irrelevant characters a little cameo in the movie.

Honestly, that's actually making me feel more annoyed than nostalgic, since that's not really making cameos, but rather reusing designs of characters I know… For new characters.

Fans: "Hey, it's doctor Croid!"
Filmmakers: "No, that's a completely different Tharpod."
Fans: "Hey, it's Cronk!"
Filmmakers: "No, it's just a Galactic Rangers warbot."

I mean, they could've remade the ORIGINAL Galactic Rangers warbots! Now that's what I'd call throwing fans a bone. I have a similar issue with Juanita - she doesn't seem to be acting as that mean-spirited presenter from Vox News… So why is that Juanita, why not Darla, or even a new character? It's not experience breaking, but to me it's still more annoying than nostalgic.

I kind of agree with Taz-Dragon on this matter:

I'm okay with the idea of Cronk army though, he IS a warbot after all.

I see no reason why Cronk's design wouldn't have been mass-produced in-universe… so why not give us the opportunity to see that class of warbot in it's prime?

That said, I still prefer the classic Galactic Ranger design from R&C3 though…
Also, something that I haven't really thought about much until they pointed it out in this trailer. how will the writers address the obvious elephant in the room? Or should I say lombax in the room? In the first game, it was just kind of assumed that lombaxes were one of the many strange species living on Veldin, but that's obviously not the case anymore, so I'm curious as to how they'll tackle the issue of no one really caring that a lombax is just walking around without a care in the world… erm… a care in the universe.

That's actually a really good question… I'm curious about that too.

So… why is the little robot in a suit next to Drek in the scene where he's scolding Stanley for texting during his speech, but is then fist bumping Grimroth in another scene later in the trailer?

And regarding the Kerwan/Veldin thing, I think it's just the way the trailer is edited. The planet that's actually blown up looks nothing like the planet the Deplanetizer is flying towards before it fires the laser (which is probably Veldin).

This might be stretching a bit. the robot in the tux might be a spy, because Drek might know that Quark is on Veldin, and he's trying to get intel on him

I think that's Mr. Micron. As for the other one…he's green, not red. I recommend watching the movie to find why he's fist bumping Grimroth :p

And Kubak, you are nerding a bit too much emoji

Is Gramercy Pictures presenting the movie in just the US, or internationally as well?

You mean if it's coming to other countires? Yes. Yes it will be featured in other parts of the world.

No, they're just an American distributor, but the movie is coming to other countries via other distributors.

I'm just waiting for the ASEAN release date. Come on!

So… Any word on a 3D version?

And hey, if it doesn't release in your country, you can always get it "overseas". Did that with Heavenly Sword, yarrrr. If they didn't want me to do that, they should've made a Region 1 version and not just Region 2.

I don't want to go to Europe just to watch it! I want to watch it here! But if they release it on Singapore, and we are going on vacation there, maybe that'll be just fine.

"Overseas" *wink.

As in Rusty Pete and Cap'n Slag. If you catch my drift.

The movie is going to be in 3D, yes emoji

Awesome!

But that also means I will have to go to Amsterdam. All the cinemas near me can only afford 2 versions of 1 movie. Which will probably be the Dutch dub in 2D and the Dutch dub in 3D. Oh well, I'm sure it will be worth the extra expences. emoji
