Thread: [FFA] Speedrun

Seb

I shall upload a speedrun video in my Youtube channel. I'll try to finish the whole campaign in 1 hour and 10 minutes (it may be shorter). Actually no one has tried to speedrun this game (because there is no WR), but I believe it should be interesting to see what is the best way to end up the game.
Thus if you guys want to try or discuss about it, you can write it here.
What do you guys think about speedrunning the FFA campaign ? Have you ever tried ?

Here are the best times :

Me and my brother (Texas, as you know him) tried to speedrun in 2 hours, but that darned Proteus level took up too much time…

I speedrunned ITN in an hour, though emoji

Seb

One hour ! Oh ! That's fast ! emoji I also tried it but I think I did something like 1 hour and a half or maybe two hours.
Do you mean you two were together playing co-op ? It's quite easier than alone imo.
In my video, I just got 3 Insomniac challenge skillpoints (including Proteus xD). I also found this map really hard but I've found an easy way to complete it. emoji I'll show you in my video, in which I finished the campaign mode in 1 hour and 10 minutes (alone). It was really fun but it needed a long practice xD

Hey ya!
Imma watch your speedrun video in your Youtube channel as soon as possible. I'm gonna attempt myself to do it later thanks to your video.

I only speedrunned UYA in four hours, then Deadlocked in two hours. Eventually, I'll try to finish the whole campaign in using your own tactics. Good luck with your challenge! emoji

Seb

Actually I did it a few hours ago and I recorded it emoji (1 hour 10 minutes and 4 seconds). It's uploading and it may be available in 2 days. Nonetheless, I have been practicing for several days so I believe you will have to too ! emoji I'd be glad to know your time after your training.
Besides congratulations for UYA and DL… That's amazing !

What's more, I shall try to finish it faster than my current time, because I can improve it 'cause of unlucky moments at the end… But I do not believe we can finish in less than an hour.

Seems we have a few speedrunners among us. Kind of makes me want to see how fast I can get through a Ratchet & Clank game. If I had to chose one to speedrun, I'd probably go with the first game because only with that game am I sure I can do it without dying. The Qwark battle and Oltanis would be pretty tense though. Those are the areas I am always most likely to die in.

I may actually hold the world record for speedrunning in ITN, because I found out how to play the game without Clank, plus a few other glitches that DO involve Clank: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQwmc7U4Z6o and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqlzYGaVk6Y

ITN fastest normal speedrun: 40 minutes
Fastest NG+ Speedrun 25 minutes

Link dosen't work, but I'll take your word for it emoji

Yes it does?

I think that the definitive speedrun of a game would be from the real start. Like not NG+. So I would rather try to set one non-NG+.

Seb

I don't understand "any%", and "NG+"… What are they ?

any% means that the objective of the speedrun is to simply get to the end. This is as opposed to to a 100% speedrun that requires every single unlockable is obtained in order to mark the end of the speedrun.

NG+ is short for "New game plus" which means the speedrun can be started on a replay of the game (so Challenge Mode in Ratchet & Clank), and requires that all they have to do is get to the end. But with games like Ratchet & Clank, it can make these ones incredibly easy.

I can't for people to speedrun the new Ps4 game emoji

Seb

@Ratchetruler : Thank you. I now understand why NG+ is as fast xD. Of course it's way easier, I agree with you emoji
I have just improved my time thanks to a glitch I found a few hours ago. Thus I finished Grummelnet in 15 minutes.
