Thread: Ps4 games thread

A little too nice if you ask me, how am I going to afford all of this! Mass Effect, Rise, R&C, StarFox and Uncharted are all day 1 for me. The other will probably be used copies from the Game Mania sale. emoji

Namco, you better do something with the Ace Combat series at least next year!

Oh, and I have a question that you guys can hopefully answer:

War Thunder or World of Tanks?

Great. I might start a war here.

Neither! (But that's probably not what you want to hear)

Yeah… I don't play either so I can't really help you.

It's official! Marvel's Spider-Man swings onto the PlayStation 4 September 7, 2018. More details on Playstation Blog.

I hope E3 doesn't turn out like last years. I wasn't too interested in that one.

But with this year I have more to look forward to. The Last of Us Part 2, Spiderman, hopefully Spyro, and VR and other stuff too.

Some good announcements are always the best part too. So I've got my fingers crossed for cool new PS4 games! I wan't to see the original Ratchet & Clank PS2 games on the PS4 through emulation! (like Jak and Daxter got)

Hey, yeah. E3 is closing in!

I'm excited for Shadow of the Tomb Raider. 15 minute gameplay or 2 minute CG trailer... all fine with me.

Also hoping for some remasters, maybe a new Star Wars SERIOUS SINGLE PLAYER GAME, info on Anthem. And, of course as you said, brand new announcements.

I'll probably end up watching Sony, EA and Microsoft. And of course Sony will be 03:00 in the morning again. Woop woop...

I would like to try and watch them all, even though I know EA and Nintendo won't really have anything for me (EA can be a bit much to sit through at times).

It sucks that EA is basically the only one I will be able to watch on the weekend, because they have the least for me.

I'm really just looking forward to Microsoft, Ubisoft and Sony. I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of Rayman at Ubisoft for once. And as much as I'd like to see more Beyond Good and Evil 2, I think it's too early for me to expect anything more from it.

With Bandai Namco attending E3, I'm hoping they'd finally reveal the release date for Ace Combat 7. It's been delayed for long.
EA can be... extremely boring at times. Mainly because of their enthusiasm when it comes to sports games. I really DON'T care the grass now blows with realtime wind!

Beyond Good & Evil sounded good to me, until I heard it was just the same universe (not characters) and on a sidenote... an MMO. A strange choice, in my opinion. Maybe not the characters, but definitely it being MMO-esque.

And Ace Combat 7... is that the VR game, or..?

I have a lot of faith in the creator of BGaE 2. He knows his stuff when it comes to making games. He made Rayman 1 and 2, which are very good games. And of course the original BGaE and the newer Rayman Origins and Legends. He's been waiting a long time to get the right opportunity to make a good sequel to BGaE 1. And I'll admit, I never got far into it, but I really liked the first game. It's sad that they ditched the characters, but the way I see it, the new characters will probably be fine as long as Ancel and his team take their time and give it the attention it needs.

I mean, Metal Gear Solid 3 had an all new cast of characters from the originals, while sticking to the same universe, and it did just fine.

As for the online gameplay. It doesn't look like playing with friends will become a focus. It's really hard to tell at this stage, but I am hoping it's more of a shared world deal, where you can play with friends or just ignore people and go about your adventures alone without worrying about intrusions into the core adventure and story experiences.

I just hope it isn't going to have any competitive aspects. And if it does, they should be opt-in only.

And Ace Combat 7... is that the VR game, or..?

As far as I know it'll have both regular and VR missions, so it's not VR exclusive. Of course, I'm looking forward to the regular missions. I don't have either a PS4 Pro nor PSVR.

S'why I think it's odd still. From what I've read (which frankly isn't a whole lot), it sounds similar to Sea of Thieves, Anthem, Destiny and the other console-oriented action MMOs. I have trouble connecting that concept to the original Beyond. But I guess time will tell. filename11.png
